Psalmopoeus cambridgei, commonly known as the Trinidad Chevron, is one of the largest and most sought-after species in the Psalmopoeus genus. Native to the tropical rainforests of Trinidad, this stunning New World arboreal tarantula is prized for its olive-green to bronze coloration, bold chevron markings across the abdomen, and vibrant orange highlights on its legs. Adult females can reach an impressive 6–7 inches (15–18 cm) in leg span, making them a standout display species for any collection.

The Trinidad Chevron is well known for its rapid growth, strong feeding response, and impressive web-building abilities. Given plenty of climbing opportunities, it will create thick sheets of webbing and intricate tubular retreats throughout its enclosure, making it an exciting species to observe both day and night.

Although P. cambridgei is a New World species, it does not possess urticating hairs. Instead, it relies on speed and agility when startled. While typically less defensive than some other arboreal tarantulas, it is still incredibly fast and best suited for intermediate to experienced keepers. Handling is not recommended due to its quick movements.

This species thrives in a tall, well-ventilated enclosure furnished with cork bark, branches, and other vertical climbing structures. Temperatures between 75–82°F (24–28°C) with moderate to high humidity and excellent cross-ventilation will help maintain a healthy environment and encourage natural webbing behavior.
