The Dolichothele diamantinensis, known as the Brazilian Blue Dwarf Beauty, captivates with vibrant blue hues similar to the Green Bottle Blue but in a smaller, compact size. Native to the rocky savannas, dry forests, and scrublands of Diamantina in southeastern Brazil, this fast-growing tarantula reaches maturity in about 18 months. Ideal for intermediate keepers, it thrives with lower humidity and a full water dish. Its quick, skittish behavior—especially as spiderlings—makes handling tricky, but its striking appearance and lively nature add a unique charm to any collection.
The Dolichothele diamantinensis, or Brazilian Blue Dwarf Beauty, thrives in a simple terrestrial setup with plenty of floor space. Including cork bark, cholla wood, or branches encourages natural webbing. Ensure good ventilation and some extra height to support upward web building. Juveniles and adults do well in enclosures about 2–3 times their leg span, while tiny slings can be comfortably housed in small containers. A hide is helpful but many prefer their web as a retreat. This spider is low maintenance and unique, making it a great addition for enthusiasts looking for a striking yet manageable pet.
